Low Carbon Schools for Peace and Climate Action

With the mission of transforming and strengthening the role of schools and educational institutions in general, we have developed the Low Carbon Schools initiative, a comprehensive strategy for local and intergenerational climate action. The Low Carbon Schools strategy proposes actions based on the school's territorial and socio-environmental assessment, which is addressed through the following key areas:

  • Action 1. Clean energy and WASH
  • Action 2. Education, Gender, the Environment and Peace
  • Action 3. Environmental sustainability, Monitoring and Transparency
  • Action 4. Food Healthy and Low Carbon
  • Action 5. Biodiversity, Forests and ecosystem services

This project was internationally recognized by the Action Plan for Global Youth Development (APGYD) 2023, promoted by the All-China Youth Federation, being selected as one of the 100 Excellence Actions, ranking 33rd in the 2023 edition.

Change your Mind, Not the Climate

In 2018, as part of Rise For Climate, a global climate campaign advocating for justice and addressing the direct causes of climate change, we organized an awareness and art event for the citizens of Barranquilla. The aim was to encourage reflection on unsustainable consumption and production across various economic sectors, which are reflected in everyday life. “Change your mind, not the climate” encourages us to reflect on our daily decisions and the importance of ensuring they protect and conserve nature and planetary health. The campaign is led by the organization 350.org, which seeks to unite five continents in the effort to accelerate a renewable energy transition for the planet.
