With this social innovation project, we presented the environmental and social realities of the most important water source in the Atlántico department and the solution we, as community leaders, are providing. In the first phase of registration, we shared all our project results and achievements, and out of 150 participants, we became one of the 10 finalists of the 2014 Bayer Young Community Innovators competition.
Furthermore, we developed mangrove planting initiatives as an ecological restoration strategy, as well as community strengthening and environmental education workshops, promoting a sense of ownership of the land, environmental awareness, and youth leadership in ecosystem protection.
