The Foundation Barranquilla+20 with the support of the programme Ocean Solutions Microgrants developed the project Guardians Mouths of Ashes in which children and adolescents inhabitants of surrounding areas to Bocas de Ceniza in Barranquilla, Colombia were trained and empowered in the knowledge and conservation of the oceans and the rivers.
The panel Stop Ocean Plastic Pollution held on Thursday, August 6, was organized by Barranquilla,+20, and counted with the participation of GYBN Colombia, 350.org Latin America and a group of experts on the protection of the marine environment with those who addressed the sources and impacts of marine pollution on biodiversity.
In August 2016, was launched by the meeting of the Latin american Parliament of Youth on the Water that mobilized the preparation and positions to group a call and outline proposals for the care of the water.
With this project of social innovation, we present the environmental reality and social of the water source more important of the department of the Atlantic, and the solution that we as social leaders we are providing to you. Thus it was that in the first phase of registration got to know all of our results and achievements of the project and between 150 participants got to be one of the 10 finalists of the Bayer Young Community Innovators 2014.
