Energy and Transport

With the mission to transform and strengthen the role of the colleges, schools and general educational institutions, we have developed the initiative, Schools, Low-Carbon, which is a comprehensive strategy for climate action, and local and inter-generational. The comprehensive strategy of Schools in Low-Carbon proposed actions according to the diagnostic territorial and environmental of the School that is addressed in the following areas:  

• Action 1. Clean energy and WASH
• Action 2. Education, Gender, the Environment and Peace
• Action 3. Environmental sustainability, Monitoring and Transparency
• Action 4. Food Healthy and Low Carbon
• Action 5. Biodiversity, Forests and ecosystem services

 

Este proyecto fue reconocido internacionalmente por el Action Plan for Global Youth Development (APGYD) 2023, promovido por la All-China Youth Federation, siendo seleccionado como una de las 100 Excellence Actions, ocupando el número 33 en la edición 2023.

Barranquilla,+20 it was at the Conference of the Parties to the framework Convention on Climate Change of the United Nations COP25 in Madrid, Spain with the purpose of sharing about the actions in the field of climate change, gender and climate justice developed with the projects I Government and local policies and sub-national at the Summit of governments Under 2 Coalition. As well as sharing our vision on gender, intergenerational equity, transportation, and climate change that we developed for the program, Young Leaders for Sustainable Transport led by SLOCAT.

In 2018, within the framework of the Rise For Climate, campaign, global climate that promotes justice and stop the direct causes that generate climate change, we organized an awareness raising campaign, and art for the citizenship barranquilla with the aim of encouraging reflection on the consumption and unsustainable production in various economic sectors and that are reflected in the everyday life. “Change your mind, not the climate” proposes us to reflect on our daily decisions, and the importance of these, protect and conserve nature and health all over the planet. The campaign is spearheaded by the organization 350.org with the aim of unifying 5 continents in front of the goal to accelerate a transition to renewable energy alternative for the planet.
