Colombia Emissions Inventory 2021

In September 2021, Barranquilla+20 signed the Peoples Climate Agreement with the objective of joining global efforts to combat the climate crisis and put us on the right path to stay below 1.5 °C by 2100. In this sense, and seeking to strengthen climate justice, we prepared this inventory that contains the present and future panorama of Colombia’s emission of greenhouse gases. This allows us to visualize the level of coherence and consistency between climate policies and intersectoral decisions, between discourse and territorial action. The report was substantiated at COP26.
Climate Emergency for the Department of Atlántico
2021
Civil society in Colombia has managed to influence policies and legal and juridical actions in favor of the rights of nature, the defense of life and a healthy environment. These exercises have resulted in collective constructions that reflect the importance of designing territorial routes for climate action, routes that are appropriated by the CITIZENSHIP. In this context, and with the Declaration of Climate Emergency in the department of Atlántico, we want to contribute to strengthening the capacities of activists, advocates and social movements to formulate a declaration of climate emergency – a tool for political advocacy to position climate change issues at the local and national level.
Pasto's Climate Management Model

We support cities like Pasto that seek to contribute to the implementation of climate change actions. The city established the formulation of the Comprehensive Territorial Climate Change Management Plan (PIGCCT, in its Spanish acronym) through the Secretariat of Environmental Management in its Development Plan “Pasto, The Great Capital 2020-2023”. All this, in order to comply with the Framework Law and the National Climate Change Policy as well as the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate. This incorporation was supported by Barranquilla+20.
